ME AND HIM AND WHO

An update from Barnaby Eaton-Jones who went into the studio with the script yesterday:

STAY TUNED!

The flamboyant John Nathan-Turner dedicated the majority of his professional (and personal) life to Doctor Who, culminating in his role as Producer  from 1979 to 1989; when the original run of the show finished.

Stephen Wyatt ('The Greatest Show in the Galaxy') has written a beautifully poignant and waspishly witty two-hander about the last years of JN-T, as he tries to write his 'tell-all memoir' alongside his outspoken partner, Gary Downie.

It was a delight to record this yesterday, with actors Christopher Guard and Peter Noble as JN-T and Gary, respectively. Both of them sparking off each other, imbuing the conversations with an undulating rise and fall that gives it all some proper dramatic heft.

I'm on directing and producing duties, as ever, but it was also great fun script-editing Stephen's brilliant script and immersing myself in those larger than life characters.

Thanks to AUK Studios for commissioning this.

There will be a better announcement once the sound design and music has been completed. Please look out for it as, I assure you, it's a cracking character piece.
